FALL GREETINGS !

Greetings!

We hope you had a great summer filled with friends, sun and activity.

As we move into fall we prepare for shorter days, cooler weather and a slower pace of life. Autumn is a time of balance where yin and yang energies are closer to equal than other seasons. As autumn transforms into winter, yin (cold, dark) energy becomes more prominent and yang (warm, light) energy is depleted. Autumn is a time to support the metal element in the body. The organs associated with metal and autumn are the lungs and large intestine. We focus our therapeutic principles in Chinese medicine during fall to support the lungs and warm the body. Focusing on lung health protects our energy and strengthens our immunity against seasonal pathogens such as colds, flus and allergies.

Support Your Lungs and Warm the Body with Nutrition and Herbs.
Prepare for the transition into fall and winter and support lung health by practicing slow cooking methods and eating plenty of cauliflower, potatoes, turnips, parsnips, apples, pears, rice, onions and garlic. Herbs such as cinnamon, schisandra, astragalus, ginseng, peppermint and ginger are all helpful for tonifying and protecting the lungs. Incorporate the use of eucalyptus, rosemary or peppermint essential oils into your daily routine. These essential oils are antiviral bronchodilators perfect to boost respiratory function and protect against colds and flus.

It’s a great time for a Fall tune-up. Call to schedule today!
Happy Fall!
